About Arwe

A Bit About Us:

Arwe Music is a piano studio that lives by a simple philosophy. Keep it simple, and keep it fun. If a child is board, they can not learn very well. If a child is confused or struggling, they shut down and block out any new information. The trick to successfully getting a child to learn is to find the balance between simple and fun. If the lessons are too simple, it becomes boring, but on the other hand, the truly fun songs that they hear from their favorite Disney movie or radio station is usually above their skill level. So my job is to keep up with the what students like and find music on their level that sounds like what they want to play. And at the same time incorporate traditional exercises, theory studies, historical lessons, oral drills, ear training all within their lessons. But after playing for 25 years and teaching over 300 students, I have fine tuned my lessons to include all that and yet keep it simple, and keep it fun.

Arwe Music is different than any other piano school because we teach piano in Group Lessons. I understand that most people believe that piano needs to be learned one-on-one, but my question is WHY? Almost no other activity for children is done one-on-one. Sports, painting, dancing, band, chess club, book clubs, science clubs, gymnastics, drama, acting, choir, computer programming, LEGO Robotics, ect... they are all done in groups and for good reason. First off, group activities usually cost way, WAY less. Second, class accountability and class energy actually help students learn faster, and retain information better. Third, it's just more fun. Kids playing music with their friends is always going to be more fun, than playing by themselves. And I could go on about how kids in group learn faster, have a better ear, have better rhythm, and can sight read faster than those that take individual lessons, but why don't you come try it for FREE. You are perfectly welcome to come try any of our piano classes for free any time. Just give us a call so we can make sure there is an open piano for you.
